Is this protective riding gear?

No. It is a rain shell, not impact or abrasion protection, and it is not certified safety equipment. Keep wearing your full protective gear and use this as a layer over it.

How fast does the color show, and does it fade back?

Almost instantly. The second a raindrop lands, color shows up right where it hit, and it keeps spreading as the rain keeps coming. Once you're out of the rain, it fades back to black as the jacket dries. How long that takes depends on the weather and airflow. It resets on its own, every time it rains.

Is it waterproof, or just water-reactive?

We'll be straight with you: it's a lightweight rain shell, not a heavy-duty storm suit. The outer fabric is water-repellent and sheds the rain you hit on a commute or a ride. If you're heading into hours of steady downpour, wear a base layer underneath and you'll stay comfortable.

Which size if I wear it over a padded jacket?

Order your usual size to wear it over a hoodie. Over a padded or armored jacket, go one size up.

Will sweat or humidity set it off?

No. The color only reacts to liquid water landing on the outside of the jacket, like rain, spray or a splash from a puddle. Sweat and humid air won't set it off, so it stays black until the rain actually shows up.

DRY = BLACK  /  WET = COLOR

How the Code works

A water-reactive layer sits over a bright base color. Dry, the jacket reads solid black. Wherever water lands, that spot turns see-through and the color underneath breaks out.

A light drizzle leaves a pattern of spots. A real downpour lights up the whole thing. As it dries, it fades back to black, ready for the next rain. No batteries, no reset.

RIDE. RUN. REPEAT.

Built for the ride to work, the run in the drizzle and every wet street after. Black on dry days. Neon when it pours.

Rain made my ride way more fun

Got hit with heavy rain on my way home and the blue started popping as soon as the drops landed. People at the lights kept looking over at my jacket. The crazy part is it goes back to black when it dries, so it doesn't look loud all the time. Fits comfortably over my riding gear too. Definitely a conversation starter.

The pink looks insane in the rain

I got the pink version because I wanted something different from the usual riding jackets. Tried it in the drizzle and the color showed up exactly where the water hit. Such a cool effect in person, especially under streetlights. I can throw it over my hoodie without feeling restricted, and when it dries, it goes dark again. Honestly, the color-changing feature is what sold me.

Everyone at the meetup noticed it

Brought this along on a rainy ride and ended up showing it to half the group. The green splashes appear when the rain hits and disappear again once the jacket dries. It's a really unique look without having a bright jacket on all day. Packs easily with my other gear, and the hood is a nice extra when I'm off the bike. Pretty cool piece of kit.
